A fire in a vehicle, particularly an electric vehicle, can spread quickly spread to other vehicles or other infrastructure nearby. Any car fire is dangerous and toxic, but in a recharging station, road tunnel, car park, passenger ferry or any location where vehicles are parked close together it can quickly become a disaster.
Electric vehicle batteries are known to burn with greater ferocity and higher temperatures in the case of a fault.
