About this Course

This TÜV Rheinland course has been written in accordance with the latest German / DGUV guidelines. This course combines our TÜV Rheinland Level 2 and TÜV Rheinland Level 3 courses, allowing applicants to obtain a TÜV Rheinland Level 3 credential that is highly valued in this international business.

Candidates will build the skills and knowledge required to work safely on Electric and Hybrid Vehicles. Learn about the Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), tools and general equipment required with the associated risks and hazards of working with DC High Voltage systems and associated components. Automotive technicians working on high voltage electrical systems should have extensive knowledge and specialized training. In this course, you will learn the hazards surrounding EHV‘s, preparing a vehicle to carry out repairs and EHV vehicle system components and its operation/function.

The content of this course enables the candidate to learn:

  • Re-cap of the contents of TÜV Rheinland Level 1 Course in Electric & Hybrid Vehicle Safety
  • Learn about electrical laws
  • Learn about specific components (including battery packs) and how they operate, shutdown procedures and vehicle reinstatement post service or repair
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Methods to minimise risk and/or damage
  • Identifying suitable sources of technical information
  • Using the information obtained
  • Appropriate tools and equipment for the task
  • Correct procedures
  • Identifying correct procedures then disconnecting components
  • Demonstrating the correct methods to reset vehicle systems post-repair
  • Completing work/repair records accurately for any future reference

Entry Requirements
  • Candidates have completed TÜV Rheinland Level 1 Course in Electric & Hybrid Vehicle Safety
  • At least 6 months detailed working experience in an Automotive Technician workplace
  • Fluent in English. Written and Spoken. (Other language training can be provided but should be requested during initial consultation. Additional costs may apply.)
Further Study
  • This TÜV Rheinland Level 2 & 3 course provides essential knowledge and awareness of electric/hybrid vehicle technology. Further study can be undertaken with the TÜV Rheinland Level 4 Course in Electric & Hybrid Vehicle Safety Technician. These qualifications further develop knowledge and skills within the technical role.
Terms and Conditions

  • Mileage will be charged at £0.45/mile / €0.55/mile /  $0.60/mile from the trainers location (Pricing may differ for training outside of the UK).
  • A hotel, evening meal and breakfast cost may be charged at £180/night / €210/night / $230/night depending on location.
  • A subsistence (snacks, drinks, toll charges, etc) cost may be charged at £30/night / €35/night / $40/night depending on location.
  • We will require full payment in advance to secure your requested training date.
  • If you can no longer make the arranged training date, we’ll move your course to another date.
  • EINTAC’s Trainer will normally travel to the training in their own Electric or Hybrid Vehicle, so this can be used for the course. Therefore, if you do not have access to such a vehicle at your site/location, this is not a problem. However, there may be rare occasions when that vehicle is unavailable, for example when that vehicle is due a service etc. If this situation does occur, it shall be the customers responsibility to provide a suitable alternative vehicle for the training. EINTAC are happy to help with your selection of that vehicle.
